A question you might be tempted to ask Alexa, Google, Cortana or some other virtual assistant is this, "How do I actually put an Autosock on my vehicle?" We get it. If you have ever put on cables and/or chains on your vehicle then you know how involved that process can be especially when you only do it once or maybe twice a year. The good news is that AutoSocks are much easier to put on than any other option. In fact, it is so easy that you do not need to look anything up year to year. It is super easy to remember how to do it because it literally takes a few minutes to install AutoSocks on your tires. The hard part is remembering to take them off when meeting bare pavement without any snow or ice. Luckily, that process is just as easy as putting them on too.
Ok, so how do I put them on my vehicle?
The quick and dirty answer is that you slip them on over your tires. Of course, there is a point where you find that you cannot put it all the way around your tires because the bottom of the tire is touching the ground. All you have to do at that point is drive forward or backward so that you can access that part of the tire and finish slipping it on your vehicle. We, of course, recommend that you do not do this while your vehicle is running. It does not make sense to run yourself over when you are trying to be safe by giving yourself better traction in snow and ice. You can take a look at the photo above to get a general idea. We also found a video that shows a person putting them on, using them, and taking them off for the first time.
If you watch the video to the left then you can see just how easy and simple installation of an AutoSock can be when you need them. It is the reason that they might be the best emergency traction device in the marketplace. They are light, fast to install, and easy to remember how to install even if you only use them once or twice a year.
Here are a few things to remember, however. The first thing to remember is that you should not exceed 30 mph if you are driving non-commercial vehicles. If you are driving commercial vehicles then you want to keep your speed to 20 mph. You also do not want to use the AutoSock on roads that do not have any ice or snow on them. it will wear down the AutoSock quickly and you will not get the longevity out of the product that you deserve. The last thing to know is that you should take the AutoSock off when not in use. If you leave them on overnight then they might freeze while still on your wheels. You do not want an extra layer of ice to contend with when you wake up in the morning. Other than that using an AutoSock is fast and easy. You should have one in your vehicle when winter comes because you will always be ready with an AutoSock on your side.
